WELCOME TO WIBC’S YOUTH PAGE!

UPCOMING EVENTS

Well, this very Friday at 7:00 p.m. at WIBC, at Terra Nova, we are going to have a night to relax and have fun. If you want to wind down, this will be your "pit stop" for your week. You liked how I used a Grand Prix Weekend touch ;) huh? LOL

The evening of June 6th is meant for everyone to enjoy as pastor Jason Fry has planned a versatile evening. We are going to have a Ninteno Wii tournament going on at the same time as making pizza. Yep. All you have to bring is your pizza toppings and whatever Nintendo Wii material you may have.  For those of us who don't really want to play Wii, there will be other activities available for the evening. That includes board games, ping-pong and other materials.

The bulk of the evening will be centered around the Wii with a steady flow of pizza coming out of the oven. There will also be prayer time and a chance for people to talk but there will be no message given out. Bottom line: come hang out and have fun! If you intend on coming it would be nice to have a confirmation via email (send it to daniels_21@hotmail.com) so that we may bring the necessary dough and remote controllers. See you there!

                     GOD BLESS!

Ever wonder how much time there really is? Not the "no time left" when you dash off your assignment or the "time to the get out of here" because your shift ended at work or even the expiry date on your yogurt... Rather, how much time is given to us here on earth to fulfill our calling. If you do the calculation yourself, you'll find out that any human being is given 613 200 hours to live up to 70.

When I presented this number to my former high school math teacher, he said it needed to be more. When you think about it, there's absolutely no way to get "extra" time unless you live to be over 70. When you compare the number of years we get to live nowadays in comparison to the 1850's, we get to live to almost twice the time. Does that mean that we are more productive or even better off?

A few years ago, a friend of mine left for Texas with his family because of his father's job. The formal goodbye was a song sang in church entitled "La vie ce n'est qu'un voyage" or "Life's Nothing but time away". I often look at life and realize that it can truly be a quick whiff or a vacation. So what's there to do? Well the only one who can answer that question is God. God has given each of us a purpose and a calling and the capacity to fulfill that calling in whatever discipline.

Martin Luther King Jr. once wrote,

"If a man is called to be a streetsweeper; he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music, or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say: "Here lived a great streetsweeper who did his job well."

Pretty nice quote! God has given us a special task to fulfill to serve Him as adequately as possible. We have to do what we can in this present life, with the time we are given to fulfill His work foremost. Once we start working for God, all the other things we plan on doing come as blessings for Him. Whatever God has set on your heart to do, do it with all your might and power. God will bless you, often more than expected!

Psalm 39:4

"Show me, O LORD, my life's end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting is my life." (NIV)
